GET TO KNOW OUR REGION

OLEIROS

Virgin stoney cove located between La Concha de Artedo and San Pedro de la Ribera. It's located 7.5km away from us. This is an off-the-beaten-path location and doesn't have cafeteria, lifeguard service or direct parking. You can access it by foot from the Monte Valsera car park, where you can leave your car for free.

BEACHES

The Cudillero area has a sheer, cliffy coast. Hidden between these cliffs, one can find numerous beaches and virgin coves. We recommend visiting them during the low tide, so you can enjoy wide areas of the beach that would otherwise be covered by water.

Playa del Aguilar

AGUILAR

Stunning, white sand beach at only 3,5km away from our campsite. It has Blue Flag for fulfilling the highest standards for environmentalism and cleanliness and has all-day lifeguard service during the summer season. It is accessible by car and has many parking spaces -fee-paying during summer.

Playa Concha de Artedo

LA CONCHA DE ARTEDO

Beach located at 5km away from our campsite. It has lifeguard service as well as a nice restaurant-cafeteria right by the beach. This quiet beach is located between cliffs and its bed is made up of both sand and stones. Right behind it, there is a small lake full of vegetation.

Playa Oleiros
Playa San Pedro de la Ribera

SAN PEDRO DE LA RIBERA

Fine-sand beach located at 11km away from L'Amuravela. It has lifeguard service, parking and a cafeteria right on the beach. The Esqueiro river ends right there, creating a natural water lake behind San Pedro with a walking path and a recreation area.

Playas Cabo Vidio

CABO VIDIO BEACHES

Cabo Vidio, our nearest cape, located at 12km away from L'Amuravela, is flanked by numerous virgin copes. These secluded sandy and rocky beaches enjoy some of the best sunsets in the area.

Playa Silencio

PLAYA DEL SILENCIO (SILENCE BEACH)

A little natural jewel. This one is located in Castañeras, a tiny village located 16 kms away from our campsite. It is a nudist beach with great scenic beauty, rarely frequented by tourists. One can access it by foot, having to leave your car in a car park that sits over the beach.

Playa Gueirúa

GUEIRÚA

Virgin stoney cove located in Santa Marina, 18km away from us. It doesn't have any service and it is only accessible by foot. One of the most beautiful beaches on this list, it stands out for a line of sharp tiny 'islands' of bare rock that emerge from the sea in its Easternmost point.

Playon Bayas - Playa Sablón

PLAYÓN DE BAYAS

Located near Asturias airport, Playón de Bayas is a 3.5km-long sandy beach. It is 20km away from our campsite. Its sand is dark due to the coal and slate carried by the Nalón river, that ends there. It has a dog-adapted area on its West end, where Bayas merges with the neighbouring beach, Playa de Quebrantos.

 Playa Barayo

BARAYO

Barayo beach is a natural 700m long sandy dune that stretches along a small stretch of coast. It is located between Navia and Valdés, 43km away from our campsite. It is part of a natural reserve that includes the beach, a river and the woods behind it, creating a wild and beautiful setting where one can find local species of animals such as wild otters.

CHARMING PLACES

Asturias has been traditionally known as Spain's 'Natural Paradise' and Cudillero's surroundings are a good example of that. Our precipitous coast slowly turns into medium and high mountain as lush valleys, imposing mountains and big rivers mould a very unique landscape.

Cabo Vidio
Cabo Vidio

CABO VIDIO

One of the most spectacular landmarks in the region, located at just 12km from us. Cabo Vidio is a cape formed by slate and quartzite strata. Its almost 100-m tall cliffs stand out for their verticality. On its Eastern side, we can find virgin, untouched beaches like Peña Doria or La Cueva, while its Western side falls vertically into the sea. The cape has a lighthouse that one can circle around by foot, making for an amazing view of our coastline -not apt for people suffering from vertigo. Under the lighthouse exists a cave created by sea erosion traditionally known as La Iglesiona (the "big church") among locals due to its big, rocky dome. This cave can only be visited when the tide is at its lowest and is recommendable to do it with a guide, as the access can be difficult. In Oviñana, the small village right next to Cabo Vidio, one can find several charming spots to eat and drink.

Palacio Selgas

SELGAS PALACE

Located at less than 500m away from our campsite you will find El Palacio de Selgas -or La Quinta de Selgas-, a 4-storey palace that reflects the most characteristic traits of XVI Century Italian civil architecture. It was built at the end of the XIX Century and was home of the Selgas, one of Spain's wealthiest families during the 1950s. We recommend getting informed before your visit, as opening hours tend to vary.

Brañaseca vacas

BRAÑASECA

Brañaseca is a tiny village or hamlet made up by only a few remaining houses in the mountains surrounding Cudillero, some 14 km away from L’Amuravela. Brañaseca is a beautiful vestige of the 'vaqueiros de alzada' -Asturias' mobile farming people that inhabited the Central and Western regions. The company Brañaseca Experience offers guided tours around Brañaseca's different landmarks, finishing off the visit with a delicious traditional vaqueiro meal.

Ermita de la Regalina

HERMITA DE LA REGALINA

25km away from Cudillero sits Cadavedo, a small village that holds one of the most charming little spots on the Asturian coast. On the very end of the stretch of land where Cadavedo village lays you will find la Hermita de la Regalina, a beautiful tiny hermitage built in 1931 over a cliff in honour of Cadavedo's patron saint, Riégala the Virgin -affectionately dubbed "La Regalina".

CITIES AND VILLAGES

Asturias is not only known for its nature but for its cities and villages, many of them inextricably linked to the sea. Cudillero's geographical location makes us benefit from the proximity to our region's most important cities and charming villages.

Avilés

AVILÉS

Avilés is located at 25km away from us. It is a small city with medieval origins and a longstanding maritime tradition. Its historic centre is peppered by fountains, gardens, churches and a few palaces that grant it a unique atmosphere. It makes for a really nice day visit to stroll around, eat out and do shopping. The Brazilian architect Oscar Nyemeyer took the city's mid-century industrial revolution as inspiration to design a cultural centre that now stands next to the river as a symbol of the urban and sociological renovation that the area has undergone in recent years. The city's gastronomic offering is very wide, from its many traditional restaurants all the way up to fusion and designer kitchen ones.

Luarca

LUARCA

Luarca is a beautiful little fishing village located at 38km away from L'Amuravela. It was an important fishing port during the Middle Ages and still conserves various vestiges from that period. Our national Medicine Nobel Price, Severo Ochoa, was born there.

Puerto de Vega

PUERTO DE VEGA

Puerto de Vega is located 49km away from our campsite. It is a small fishing village whose little port offers a charming typical Asturian sight, with all the small fishing boats tied up by the shore. The port is surrounded by traditional fishermen's houses as well as old 'indiano' mansions. The cliffs that surround the village offer great views of the coast along a coastal walk.

Tapia de Casariego - panorámica

TAPIA DE CASARIEGO

Near Galicia, and located 70km away from our campsite, you will come across Tapia de Casariego, one of Western Asturias' most beautiful spots. During the first half of the previous century, this was an important port for the whale-fishing market. Its beaches are also famous for having some of the best surf in the area.
