SANTA ANA DE MONTARÉS

DESCRIPTION OF THE ROUTE

The hermitage of Santa Ana de Montarés is an emblematic lieu of the community of Cudillero, both for its location and its history. It is located at the top of Mount Ares or Montarès, 400 m above sea level, where it is a point of view with its impressive views on a large part of the western coast of Asturies. It was built in the 19th century, and it has become important for a lien with the origins of the Camino de Santiago, and for the purpose of visits and arrests for the pèlerins and the fidèles.
